Terms of Service

The short version: be respectful, post only what you have the right to share, and don't use BD Devs for spam or scams. You own what you write; you give us permission to show it on the site. We can remove content or accounts that break these rules.

Agreement

These Terms govern your use of BD Devs, a community for developers in Bangladesh (“BD Devs”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use BD Devs.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • Give accurate information, and don't impersonate another person, company or organisation.
  • One person, one account. Accounts may not be sold or transferred.
  • You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your password safe. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.
  • Usernames that are misleading, offensive or infringe someone's rights may be changed or removed.

Your content

You keep ownership of the articles, comments, projects, images and other content you post. By posting on BD Devs, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, format and distribute that content on and in connection with the service — for example, showing it on your profile, in feeds and search, in the weekly digest email, and in link previews when it is shared. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies others have already shared or backups kept for a limited time.

You confirm that you have the right to post your content and that it doesn't break the law or these Terms.

Code snippets you share in articles and answers may be copied and used by other developers for learning and in their own work, unless you clearly state a different licence alongside them.

Community guidelines

BD Devs works because people treat each other well. Don't:

  • Harass, threaten, bully or demean anyone, or attack people for their identity, religion, gender or background.
  • Post spam, repetitive self-promotion, SEO link farms or AI-generated content passed off as your own experience.
  • Post someone else's work without permission or credit, or infringe copyrights and trademarks.
  • Share another person's private information, such as their phone number, address or ID documents.
  • Post sexually explicit, violent or illegal content, or content that encourages harm.
  • Share malware, phishing links, leaked credentials, or instructions meant to break into systems you don't own.
  • Deliberately post false information, including fake salaries, fake reviews or fake interview experiences.
  • Scrape the site at scale, overload it, probe for vulnerabilities without permission, or get around rate limits or bans.

Found a security issue? Please report it privately to our contact address (coming soon) instead of posting it publicly.

Jobs, salaries & interviews

  • Job posts must be for real, currently open positions. Don't charge applicants fees, collect personal data under false pretences, or post pyramid schemes. You are responsible for your hiring decisions and for complying with employment law.
  • Applications you receive may only be used to consider that applicant for that role.
  • Salary reports and interview experiences must be your own, honest and first-hand. Don't share an employer's confidential information, trade secrets or interview questions you agreed in writing not to disclose.
  • BD Devs isn't a party to any job or hiring arrangement and doesn't verify every employer or candidate. Use your own judgement.

Moderation

Members can report content that breaks these Terms. Our moderators review reports and may remove content, limit features, or suspend or delete accounts — with or without notice, depending on how serious the problem is. We aren't required to monitor everything posted, and we aren't responsible for content posted by members. If you think we made a mistake, contact us.

Our service

The BD Devs name, logo and site design belong to us. You may not use them in a way that suggests we endorse you or your product without our permission. We may change, add or remove features, and we may pause or stop the service, at any time.

Disclaimers

BD Devs is provided “as is” and “as available”. Articles, answers, salary data and interview experiences come from community members and may be inaccurate or out of date — they aren't professional, legal or financial advice. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Links to other websites aren't endorsements, and we aren't responsible for their content.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, BD Devs will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data arising from your use of the service, or for the conduct of other members. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending your use

You can stop using BD Devs at any time and ask us to delete your account by contacting our contact address (coming soon). We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we're required to by law. The sections on your content licence (for content that remains), disclaimers, liability and governing law continue to apply after your account ends.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We'll change the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we'll notify signed-in members on the site or by email. Continuing to use BD Devs after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
